For a school project everyone in my class had to make a video using a new online progam called Flix Time. This video had to be about 2011 and everything that happened in the world this year. Some of us chose to make a themed video such as new movies,extreme weather, events in Canada. I chose to make my video about all of the riots and deaths in 2011 which is for the most part all of the horrible events of this year. I decided to do this because there weren’t many good things that happened in 2011 other than the royal wedding and I rememebered that there were many riots and protests this year. With out farther ado I would like to present my video about 2011.
While we were making our videos we had to think about what was the most changing event of the year then when we finished our videos we had to write a paragraph about that event and why we thought it was the most changing event.
I thought that the earthquake and tsunami in Japan was the most changing event in 2011. I thought this event was the most changing because the effects of the natural disasters will not end for years and years to come. The disasters also set off a nuclear explosion which has made an area in Japan unliveable and won’t me liveable for hundreds of years. The radiation from the explosion has also gotten into the ocean and has been drifting toward other countries so now the radiation has effected more than just Japan. Even though this disaster has cost so much it does have a bright side. It has brought the world together to help Japan. I thought that this event was very similar to the devastating earthquake in Haiti because it also brought the world together to help and has been the only other time I’ve seen so many different advertising about donating to one cause. That’s why I think that the natural disasters in Japan have been the most changing event in 2011.
